Principal's Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

Last Sunday we celebrated the feast of the Holy Trinity, a particularly important and relevant day in our parish. Trinity Sunday is a Christian feast dedicated to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity, the essence of God expressing itself in three persons: God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the spirit of God.

Father,

you sent your Word

to bring us truth

and your Spirit to give us faith.

Through them we come to know

the mystery of your life.

Help us to be with you,

one God in three Persons,

by living our faith in you.

We ask you this, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Biggest Morning Tea / Classroom Visits

Tomorrow our Biggest Morning Tea will be held in the MPR. Before the BMT and straight after prayer gathering, parents and grandparents are invited to take the time to visit the children’s classrooms to see the wonderful work they have been producing throughout the year.  Well done to our Grade 6 Social Justice Team and Maegen for organising the event.

Reconciliation Week

This week we have been celebrating Reconciliation Week. This is a week where we recognise and respect the First Peoples of this land, acknowledge the past injustices and ongoing inequalities experienced since colonisation, and commit to working towards a more equal and respectful future. On Monday the children were invited to wear casual clothes displaying the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander colours. After second break we had a short reflection on the courts and as a whole school walked a lap of the Botanic Gardens admiring our beautiful land and surroundings, which we are so grateful for. The children have also been completing various activities in their classrooms throughout the week.

Prep Enrolments for 2025

I would like to have enrolments for next year finalised by the middle of next term. I will be on Long Service Leave for the first 3 weeks of next term. Therefore, if you have any extended family or friends intending on enrolling their child next year, it would be greatly appreciated if you could pass this information on to them, so they can arrange for a meeting and a tour of the school. I request all existing families that have a child starting in Prep next year, submit their enrolment form as soon as possible.

Playground Use After School

Over the past few months I have conducted a number of tours and it has been great to get such positive feedback about our beautiful playground spaces. Pre COVID, it was always lovely to see families staying behind after school to play on the junior playground. It was a great opportunity for children to play outdoors and for parents and carers to make connections and form friendships. Post COVID, there was a big drop off with this, as life changed and there was uncertainty about what is and isn’t allowed. With the beautiful weather we have been experiencing lately, it has been wonderful to see families getting back into this lovely routine. I understand life is busy and we have commitments after school, but I strongly encourage this if time permits, even if it’s just for 10 minutes.

Enjoy the rest of your week.
