Wonderful 1/2

0ne(two)derful 1/2s

Term 2 Week 7 2024 -  Friday 31st May.

What have we been up to?

The students have had a fantastic two weeks. All the students that helped out with the book fair did a fantastic job and should be proud. Students did a great job at school photos and had their best smile on.

There will be a new 1/2 class starting on the 12th of June. We are welcoming a new staff member, Hannah Jackson, who will be teaching our new 1/2D class. This is very excited for all the 1/2 staff and students.

Students have been writing informational reports about baby animals and their needs. Over these past two weeks students have written two informational reports about their chosen baby animal and all of their needs. Students drew their own pictures for their reports and wrote facts about what they eat, drink, sleep, and what they need to play.

Students have continued Maths groups focusing on Subtraction and Multiplication. These groups have been a great chance for students to have their specific needs targeted.

There has still been a focus on Life cycles in Science and students will have a chance to consolidate this learning on the 6th of June during our Incursion with Wild Action. Wild Action will be bring a variety of Australian animals and talk about Life Cycles with all the 1/2 students.

We have a long weekend on the 8th of June and a reminder that it is a student free day Tuesday the 11th due to a Curriculum Day.

Here are some photo highlights from the fortnight that was!

The 1/2s went outside to look for animals and plants that have lifecycles and wrote them down.

1/2B learnt about reconciliation week and wrote different ways we can all work together.
