News from Prep P

This term, our Prep P students have been engaged in a variety of wonderful learning experiences. In literacy, we've been practising using all the sounds we know to read books and craft fantastic sentences. Currently, we're working in reading groups to practise blending sounds and read a variety of words. Our ability to write our own sentences and sound out new words has significantly improved.

In maths, Prep P students are becoming little experts in addition. We've been enjoying numerous maths games that help us learn about doubles and friends of 10. One of our favourite activities was asking each other yes and no questions and then collecting data to create graphs.

Every morning, we love learning new songs about God and singing them together during our prayer circle. We are also exploring how we can act like God's disciples by treating others with kindness and respect.

In Inquiry, we are discovering the different seasons of the year and the changes that each season brings. So far, we've learned that winter is the coldest season and that in autumn, the leaves transform into beautiful colours.

The highlight of our term was presenting at the school assembly. We loved sharing our song with the students and expressing how much we appreciate our mums by reading out the amazing sentences.
