F-2 News

 Foundation/1

The F/1 students have continued to work on their narratives this week, which are coming along nicely. In Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar, the Foundation students are starting to look at spelling 'tricky words' (words which can not be phonemically spelled) and the year 1 students were focusing on verbs and 2-syllabilic words ending in 'y'.

The F-2 students joined together to enjoy a maths scavenger hunt outside in the sunshine this week.

F-2 students are looking forward to the Fauna Park Excursion next week. Please make sure permission has been given on compass so your child can attend.

Spending time in the community

Students from F/1A visited the kindergarten students at Country Kids this week.  It was a lovely opportunity for the children to begin to know each other in a fun setting.  As you will see in the photos, there was smiles all round.

Grade 2

What a great two weeks we have had in Grade 2!

In Maths we have been exploring multiplication. Students have been practising creating and reading arrays and writing a matching number sentence.

We have got some amazing authors in Grade 2! Students have been busy writing and illustrating their own narratives. We were very lucky to have some 5/6 students come in and provide some great advice and help with the illustrations this week!

Reading this week we have started partner reading during independent reading time. Students read their book to a partner and then swap. At the end of the reading time students discuss what they read with their partner. It has been fantastic to see great teamwork happening during this time!

Charlie got to visit the Aged Care this week. Students did a presentation and spoke about the important role Charlie has at our school and why they love him so much. They then set a challenge of working with a resident to draw the best portrait of Charlie.

Have a wonderful weekend!
