Principal's Report

Tim Furphy, Principal

The second last newsletter of the term brings us to week 9.  I hope everyone enjoyed their (extra) long weekend, staff were busy here on Tuesday looking at Literacy improvement. Some of these new implementations will be gradually visible from next term as we continually strive to be better teachers and learners.

The year 6s, Ms Fullard and I attended the ResourceSmart awards last week at the MCG and although we didn't come home the official winners, being a top 3 finalist for ResourceSmart School of the Year is something to be pretty proud of. Whilst disappointed, the year 6s were resilient and enjoyed an outing to the city none the less.

We look ahead to reports being released next week, parent and teacher interviews and then finishing the term with our Makers Market. Classes have been busy planning, budgeting and organising this event so please keep it in your calendars and help support their hard work.

In the last week of term there will be a short newsletter, mostly for reminders and information about what is to come next term.

Winter is officially here, rug up and stay warm!

DONT FORGET ABOUT THESE REMINDERS BELOW.....

COMMUNITY STORY TIME IS BACK

Come and join us in our Foundation/1 class to get comfy, read a story and experiene school life. This is open to ANY families in the community, not just NPS families. Please help us spread the word!

NEW UNIFORM ITEMS

School Council has approved new items to be added to our uniform list for NPS. We will offer a new black softshell jacket, embroided with 'Newham' in red lettering. This will be helpful during those cold Winter months.

We have a size 10 Jacket that you can see and try on at the office.

As well as this, a red cotton long sleeve undergarment, to be worn underneath polo/regular school shirt (not as solo item).

We have a size 6 & 12 red top that you can see and try on at the office.

These will be available through Edu threads, and the QRcode is below. Or you can just go to the Eduthreads website and choose our school.

Please note these are NOT compulsory items
