Parent/Carer-Teacher Conferences

Parent/Carer-teacher conferences provide valuable opportunities for the teacher, student, parents and/or carers to share and learn more about the student socially, emotionally and academically. The meeting is to:

  • - Meet and get to know each other
  • - build a positive relationship
  • - share information about your child's interests and learning
  • - talk more in-depth about your child's report

When are conferences scheduled and how to make a booking

Parent/Carer–Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday June 24th from 11:00am – 7:00pm. This is a pupil-free day. Bookings are open and can be made through Sentral. Conference times are pre-set at 15-minute intervals. This allows for approximately a 10–12 minute conference plus swap-over time.

Preparing for the Conference

  • Arrive on time. If you are unable to attend, please remove the booking via Sentral or call the office at 9786-1555.
  • Read your child's report before attending
  • Speak to your child, ask them if they have anything they'd like you to talk about
  • Let the teacher know of any changes in circumstances in your household
  • Prepare a list of questions based on the report, behaviour etc.
  • Take notes so you can share the information with your child
  • Assume positive intent. Your child's teacher is a professional and has his/her best interests at heart

After the Conference

  • Tell your child what was discussed and talk about ways you can work together to improve their learning
