Dear Skye Families,
Welcome to the penultimate newsletter of the term, as we move into the final couple of weeks!
After two big terms of learning, our Semester 1 reports will be available to families via Sentral next week. This is a great opportunity to sit down with your child and celebrate their achievements while setting new goals for Semester 2. These reports are a valuable tool for tracking progress both in and out of the classroom.
Parent Teacher Interviews will be held on the Monday 24th June, between 11am and 7pm. This is a pupil free day. Thanks to the large number of families who have already booked a time. If you haven't booked yet, please head to Sentral, navigate to Interviews, and select a suitable time for your child/ren. The Wellbeing page has some valuable information for parents to help prepare for the interview.
A big congratulations to our Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 students who recently competed in the Hoop Time Basketball Tournaments. Coach Jackson reported that our students demonstrated high levels of sportsmanship throughout the tournament
Special shoutout to the Year 5/6 All Star Team for their outstanding performance and for advancing to the next round!
Additionally, well done to Indi, Zac, and Vienna for their fantastic efforts at the Northern Division Cross Country. They have shown great dedication to their training and will be joining our Athletics team next term.
A huge congratulations to the students who received Excellence Awards at our last assembly.
Well done to the following students who have achieved 'Silver' status for demonstrating our SWPBS expected behaviours.
We are excited to announce that our beautiful school library will be open for families to read together on Tuesday mornings next term. Our amazing librarian, Rachel Clarke, will be there to welcome you into a cozy reading nook, perfect for escaping the winter chill. More details will be shared closer to the opening.
The refurbishment of the old administration building is progressing well! This space will soon house our Visual Arts, Japanese, and Team Kids programs, providing modern and dynamic learning environments for our students.
Please note that the next phase of the Ballarto Road upgrade will see the staff carpark closed over the school holidays for culvert removal. Starting Term 3, Ballarto Road will be closed eastbound as works begin on the Potts Road intersection. Detours will be in place, so families living east of the school and use Ballarto or Potts Road should plan for extra travel time in the mornings.
Thanks for your ongoing support.
Have a great fortnight,
Tim
