Welcome to Week 4 at Blue Mountains Grammar School!

We are nearly half way through this term and it has been an extremely busy and exciting one.

Our Stories from Suburban Road, the Senior School Major Production for 2024 has had sell-out audiences spellbound by mature performances, exceptional musical talent and evocative scripting. This take on Alan Becher’s adaptation beautifully explored the loss of innocence brought about by war. Congratulations to everyone involved!

The Year 7 Odyssey Showcase was a wonderful night full of interactive audience experiences which included playing games, listening to raps, enjoying cup-cakes and discovering more about how each individual student thinks and sees themselves as a learner. The students did an amazing job putting their stalls together. Well done to the students and Odyssey team!

The Year 7 & 8 Parent Teacher Night ran this week and it was awesome to hear the buzz in Cuff Hall.Communication between home and school is vital for the success of our students. Parent-Teacher Nights provide a platform for open dialogue and collaboration between parents and educators.

The Year 11 Winter Ball preparations are well under way. The girls are dress shopping and the boys are being fitted for their suits. This year the students are being taught by National Ballroom Dancing Champions and are enjoying the rehearsals. The rehearsals have been hard going however the Winter Ball will be a night to remember. Don’t forget to book your tickets!

Next Tuesday 28th May we have our Careers Expo which will run in Cuff Hall. Help your child explore future career pathways by attending our Careers Expo. It's a fantastic opportunity to learn about different industries, meet professionals, and gain valuable insights into potential career options.

Warm regards,

Mrs Alicia Michielsen
