Foundation Art: Mixed Media Birdhouses  

Foundation students have spent a number of art lessons constructing a mixed media birdhouse. This involves a variety of art techniques and materials including upcycling cardboard, panting, drawing, cutting and clay sculpting.

Year 1 Art: Painted Patterned Penguins 🐧

Year 1 students have been working with pairs (teamwork! negotiation!  compromise!) to create these pretty painted patterned penguins! They will be sent to Tasmania, to be displayed with 15,000 other penguins for the Australian Antarctic Festival in August.

The festival is run to help conserve Australia’s Antarctic Heritage. We had excellent conversations about the importance of the conservation work being done in Antarctica.

Year 3: Embroidered Self Portraits 🪡

Year 3 students explored the truly beautiful embroidered artworks by Mexican artist Victoria Villasana. After tracing a photograph of themselves, they designed and handstitched decorative details. Fantastic!
