Crazy Sock Day
Just a reminder that tomorrow Friday 20th October, we will be having our fundraiser to raise money for Catholic Mission. Students are invited to wear “crazy socks” or socks in a crazy way and bring a gold coin donation ($1.00 or $2.00) for the Mission effort. Children are to wear their school uniforms but can wear socks of different colours, and patterns, in different and creative ways on the day.
All money raised will be donated to support Catholic Missions' work in Timor-Leste. Specifically, the proceeds will benefit vulnerable young people attending a medical clinic and a children's home in Venilale. Our contributions can help children who truly need it to access better health, nutritional and educational outcomes.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation
Congratulations to Xavier, Sofia C, Olivia, Sofia L, Aoife, Leah, Evan and Gabrielle who made their Sacrament of Reconciliation today.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is known as the Sacrament of Healing in which we celebrate Jesus' gift of forgiveness and is the second Sacrament in the Catholic Church. We congratulate these students for this milestone of their Catholic journey.
October – Month of the Rosary
Each year, the month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary. The Rosary is a Catholic form of prayer using beads, and repeating formal prayers, such as the Lord's Prayer and the Hail Mary, said while thinking about important events in the lives of Jesus and Mary. Rosary beads are an aid towards saying these prayers in the proper sequence. The “Mysteries of the Rosary” are grouped in four sets: The Joyful Mysteries, The Sorrowful Mysteries, The Glorious Mysteries and The Luminous Mysteries.
During the month of October all students have been learning about Mary and the Holy Rosary. They have learnt that the Rosary is a special prayer where we entrust our special intentions to Mary. Examples of intentions include praying for our family, friends and the sick. To support their learning we will be having a whole school Rosary service on Friday 26th of October at 2:45pm. Families are welcome to bring their own Rosary beads and pray with us in the Church.
