Principal's Message

I can clearly remember in my early days of leadership an experienced principal telling me: 

“You know when you have a good school when the principal can leave for an extended period and come back and it's like they haven't been missed”

After being away for 7 weeks, I can proudly say, I have returned to a calm, positive and learning-focused school. We not only belong to a good school, we belong to a great school.

On my return,  this is what I have observed

• Teachers maintaining high expectations for all their students. 
• The ongoing assessment and testing in all classrooms. This effective use of assessment data allows schools to identify problematic areas of learning in the classroom and take action. 
• A respectful and well behaved community. The genuine warm welcome back I received from staff, students and parents was truly rewarding. 
• Strong leadership and a staff supporting each other. A big thank you to Denise and Elise who stepped into the role of Acting Principal while I was away, and to the Leadership Team and the staff who supported them. 
• Trust - A successful school is based on trust. While I was away I trusted that the staff would continue to expect high expectations for students. Trust between all parties of the school community is vital for enhancing the school’s effectiveness because it supports the prospect that parents and teachers believe our students will grow and prosper. 

 It's great to be back.

Hopefully I was missed a little bit.
