CURRICULUM FOCUS

This week in Maths we will be learning about data. We are focusing on analysing and interpreting the data.

VOCABULARY

Scale: Tells us the units used in a graph

Axis: A fixed reference line that is used for measurement and co-ordinates parts of the data being presented.

X Axis: Usually used for the categories being presented

Y Axis: Usually used to show the numbers or units of categories displayed.

Using this graph, ask your child to label the parts of the graph. Ask them to suggest a title, consider who might have gathered this data and who it might be useful for.
