Principal's Report

Carly Avery

Dear Parents/Guardians

Congratulations to our students led by Jodie Cuskelly for a fantastic Art Show on Friday night. It was great to see such a wide range of styles and skills displayed!

Thank you to the parents who supported the planning, set up, and pack down of this event also. It was wonderful to see so many family members and friends supporting this event!

Congratulations also to our Year 5/6 students who sold their wares at the Social Enterprise Market Stall today. A lot of work went into preparing for the day, I thank Michael Kearton for supporting students in the lead-up. It was a great day for a market, and good to see many community members supporting students at the stall today.

Surveys

Thank you to those who have had an opportunity to complete our Term Three Satisfaction Survey, this will close on Friday.

Recently many of you received an email from me regarding another online survey from a company called Orima. At this stage, we have had a very low response to these surveys. I encourage you to take 15-20 mins to complete this survey, as it will be part of the information used to form our Strategic Planning over the next 4-5 years.

Staffing Updates

It is with mixed emotions I share that Bianca Vescio will be finishing up with us at the end of this year. She has a classroom teaching role at St. Bernard’s in 2024. Bianca started with us in 2020 as a graduate. It is needless to say that this was a challenging year for all, let alone new to teaching. It is a testament to Bianca the way in which she navigated this year. I know you will join me in wishing her all the best in 2024.

In 2024 as a classroom teacher, I would also like to congratulate Dan Matthews on his appointment at St. Francis in Baranduda in 2024. Dan has worked with us this year in a Learning Support Role whilst finishing up his teaching degree. He has value added in his role at St. Joseph’s, and St. Francis are lucky to have him.

Festival of the Sacred: Save the Date

On Tuesday 21st November, our 5/6 students are participating in the Festival of the Sacred, in Wangaratta. Parents and carers are invited to attend this event. Mark this date in your calendar, more details to come!
