Level 2

Level 2

Level 2 are very excited to be back for Term 4 after a restful and enjoyable break. In 2LL, we were excited to reconnect with one another and share about our holiday activities by writing a Fact or Fiction recount. Can you guess which are the two truths and one lie?

Literacy

This term, we will begin Writing by revisiting Informative Texts. Level 2 students have started investigating Australian animals such as the emu, kangaroo, and Tasmanian Devil. This links well to our skills in Reading, as we are practising how to search for and use information, summarise what we have read, and to synthesise our knowledge. 2LL have enjoyed reading about an Australian animal of their choice, highlighting key information, and writing down facts in their own words.

Numeracy

In Numeracy, we have started exploring and interpreting maps. Students are learning all about directional language, the purposes of different types of maps, and building an understanding of geography by looking at maps of Australia. So far, 2LL have warmed up by putting their HEPS geographical knowledge to the test by labelling a map of the school buildings and play areas.

Inquiry

The Level 2 Inquiry topic for this term is “Through Generations”, an exploration of Australian history and geography. Students will be learning all about the Australian states and territories, significant places, native fauna and flora, our Indigenous history, and Australian culture.
