Level 4

Final Week of Term 3

It has been lovely to see the students back at school this week after the term break. We ended Term 3 on a high with our Inquiry Expo, where the students got to showcase their rollercoasters after learning about types of forces and the engineering process. It was amazing to see the students displaying strong teamwork, problem-solving, critical thinking and resilience skills. Reasoning and evaluation skills were also utilised, as students reported their experiences and findings to the class. We were also lucky enough to engage in a Webex workshop with Andy Griffiths to discuss his final book in the Treehouse series, called ‘The 169-Storey Treehouse’. To wrap up the week, students got to dress up in sports team colours for Footy Colours Day (GO PIES)!

To start off the first week back to Term 4, the students entered Level 4 classrooms on Monday, shocked to see that their chairs had quit! To re-introduce the persuasive writing genre, students had to write a compelling persuasive piece as to why they should or should not get their chairs back. We have also been working on cause and effect in Reading, probability in Numeracy and are starting our new Inquiry unit on Stop Motion Animation.

Upcoming fortnight in Level 4:

  • Stop Motion Animation Incursion – Monday 9th October
  • Whole School Production Rehearsal (onsite) – Wednesday 11th October
  • Whole School Production Rehearsal (at the theatre) – Monday 16th October
  • Production Night 1 (A-L) – Monday 16th October
  • Production Night 2 (M-Z) – Tuesday 17th October
