Music Matters
HSC Music Practical Exams: Congratulations to our Music 1 cohort who performed superbly at their HSC practical examination last Friday. They have now completed 70% of their HSC for Music! This Friday sees our Music 2 and Music Extension perform. We wish our musicians the very best of luck and know they are extremely well prepared as they have worked hard with their accompanists to bring their programs to fruition.
BAND ROOM CLOSED Friday 15 September from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm: There will be NO access to the Band Room, Chamber Room or Mr Cummins' office due to HSC Music Practical Examinations until Friday lunchtime. Please organise to take your instrument home on Thursday afternoon. All instruments can be left in the Performing Arts Staff Room (below the Band Room) for the day. The Performing Arts Staff Room will open at 8:00 am and closes at 3:50 pm.
Intermediate Jazz Ensemble performs tonight! Please feel free to join us at the Forestville RSL for performances by our own Intermediate Jazz Band so wonderfully directed by Mr Geoff Power, as well as other local ensembles. It promises to be a fabulous night. The performances begin at 6:45 pm and conclude by 9:00 pm.
Junior and Senior Chorales: Special thanks to the hard work of our Chorale members who have provided some wonderful singing at our recent Assumption and Father's Day Masses and Twilight concert. They will again be leading the singing at the Year 12 Graduation Mass next Wednesday.

Drama Excursion
Our excursion to see The Importance of Being Earnest at Sydney Theatre Company did not disappoint. The sheer force of the witty lines, many of which have not dated, had the biggest impression on the students and staff who watched. This is an outstanding cast and there was a lot for the drama students to unpack. The many unexpected set changes were particularly appealing.

In order to prepare thoroughly for our upcoming performances I propose the following extra rehearsals.
Senior Ensemble
Sunday 15 October
10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Intermediate Ensemble
Sunday 22 October
1:00 pm - 3:00pm
The performance will be on Friday 3 November as part of the Performing Arts Week.
