From the Senior Sports Master

Congratulations to the following students who received Gold and Silver Colours at the Cocurricular Colour Awards ceremony last week.

These awards are given to students for excellence, commitment, encouragement and service in a particular cocurricular sport or activity.

Mr Matt Stearn - Senior Sports Master

Sport and ISA Champions

With the completion of the Winter Sports Program the College was very pleased to present the sports awards to the many students who have shown particular skill and dedication in their chosen disciplines. On Monday 11 September awards were presented to Athletics, Rugby and Football players for a range of successes including ISA honours and many team awards. It was encouraging to see a number of students come forward to be presented multiple awards that indicated their abilities across a range of sports.

Summer season

As we begin our summer season of sport, with District Cricket having commenced last Saturday, could I please ask you to ensure that your sons are in the correct uniform for their chosen sport.

Where students are attending as spectators, they must still be in full sports uniform or winter uniform.

Where required, please also be aware that students must only wear a college navy blue cap when playing. The pink supporters caps are not for student use.

Athletics

Athletics

Our athletes concluded their final Athletics Invitational Carnival of the season on Saturday, 9 September, at ES Marks. Once again, we had the privilege of witnessing remarkable progress among our young athletes, with many achieving personal bests (PBs).

This event served as an excellent warm-up for the ISA Championships. We extend a special mention to Lachlan Chan, who, in his first year attempting Shot Put, Discus, and Javelin, consistently achieved PBs in all three disciplines. Additionally, our Javelin prodigy, Andrew May, set a new personal best, surpassing an impressive 52 metres.

We commend the dedication of all our athletes who participated on this day: Patrick Cornes, Lachlan Chan, Benjamin Fogale, Ryan East, Max Barnett, Bradley Newman, James Patchett, Xavier Davidson, Antonio Calcarao, Lukas Vivot, Myles Jory, Christian Wong, Sam Cooper, Hamish Tooher, PJ Marren, Matthew Hunt, Finley Peake, Andrew May and Lucas Hamill. Congratulations to all!

ISA Carnival

Following on from yesterday's ISA Carnival, we are still awaiting final scores for the event.

We will post these in next week's Woodchatta.
