Student Achievement

Tahlia Gilbert, Year 12, was named Riverina Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander VET Student of the Year at the recent awards night in Wagga.

 

Tahlia is completing a school based traineeship - Certificate III Human Service with MLHD working at the Narrandera Hospital.

 

Her family, year advisor, Mrs McLay and Careers Advisor, Mrs Ing all travelled to Wagga Wagga for the ceremony.

Tahlia was also the recipient of the Zonta International Achievement Award for Young Indigenous Women. Zonta International is a service organisation of professional and business women working to advance the status of women and girls everywhere. 

 

Her citation read - "Tahlia was ranked second in NSW/ACT having demonstrated an outstanding account of the service, leadership and initiate demonstrated in her life at school. Her determination to succeed in her HSC studies is an example for other younger students."
