Wellbeing Matters
Get Growing Wellbeing Program - Student Feedback
Last term, several students participated in a wellbeing program called 'Get Growing', which was facilitated by Caitlin Youngson from GROW, a community organisation that runs mental wellbeing programs. It is wonderful to hear what they have learned:
- I value myself more than I thought, and I have great friends.
- I learned that there is a place I can go to at school if I need to and that I also have great friends.
- I got to know my friends better and I can relate to people more than I thought I would.
- I learned that I have really good friends and that I increased and made my connections better with my friends.
- It's okay to set boundaries with my friends.
- I learned how to trust adults more with my issues.
- Everyone's got their own struggles and that no matter how big they are, you can always overcome them.
- It's okay to have boundaries and people should respect them.
- It’s okay not to be okay.
- Everyone has value - and we should appreciate each other’s values.
- Not everyone is going to like you - but doesn’t mean you have to change yourself for others.
- Everyone has problems, and we can find a way to overcome them.
- Everyone feels the same - nervous anxious and you’re not alone in your feelings. There are 69 billion in the world that might not like you but there is still 1 million people that love you.
- It’s okay to feel your feelings sometimes and you’re not alone.
