ARGENTINIAN BEVERAGE - MATE

This week, Selena from 6C guided her class through the process of making a traditional Argentinian beverage from yerba mate leaves. In Argentina, mate is often shared among friends and family in a social setting. Selena demonstrated how to prepare mate without boiling water, making it a fun and engaging cultural experience. The students were very receptive, and we love celebrating the diverse cultures that enrich our school community.

DIVISION GIRLS SOCCER

Last Friday 7th June the girls soccer team competed at divisions. The students played St Patrick’s Port Fairy. St Patrick’s got the first goal before a great team play resulted in Angel scoring a goal just before half time. The second half was a deadlock until the final minute when St Patrick’s scored a goal ending the game 2-1. The students showed pride, sportsmanships and teamwork representing the school. Thank you to Mr Williams for attending on the day and doing a brilliant job at coaching the team.

PRIMARY PERFORMERS - THE LITTLE MERMAID AND OPERA AUSTRALIA - LA BOHEME

Jack Bryant one of our very talented Year 6 students is once again performing with primary performers in the production of The Little Mermaid. Students from Foundation to Year 2 will have the privledge of watching Jack perform on Thursday 27th June.

Jack has also been chosen by Opera Australia to perform in La bohème, opera's most well-known work, and certainly one of the most beloved.

The story tells the story of three couples: the romantic poet Rodolfo and the serene, self-possessed flowergirl Mimì; the temperamental painter Marcello and the fiercely independent singer Musetta; the lovably pedantic musician Schaunard and the taciturn philosopher Colline. The show will be at the Lighthouse Theatre on Saturday 20th July.

We congratulate Jack on this wonderful achievement and wish him all the very best.
