July Holiday Break Opening Hours

The Library will be open for Year 12 students over the July holiday break, but only for the last week (Monday 15 July to Friday 19 July). The LRC will be closed for the first 2 weeks of the holiday break. The ICT office will also be closed to students in the first 2 weeks.

Opening hours will be from 8.30am to 4.30pm weekdays. This is to help students in their preparation for the HSC Trial examinations.

Students are welcome to borrow any items from the SLRC for their study needs. While the SLRC has HSC resources, there are also HSC resources at BMCC library branches – Blaxland, Springwood and Katoomba. Details can be found on the BMCC library website: https://library.bmcc.nsw.gov.au/client/en_AU/default.  Just click on the tab “Youth and HSC Resources” on the bottom right of the page, and you will then find 2 tabs labelled “HSC resources” (information on what is available for study purposes, and databases) and “HSC collection” (items for students to borrow). There is also a link to the “YA newsletter” that students can subscribe to for the latest information and events for young people on the Mountains.

The 3 main branches also have study areas for individuals, or group work if you wish to study with your friends.

BMCC Library Holiday Program

There is a variety of creative school holiday programs being held at our local Council Library branches, for students ranging from Kindy to Year 10 level. There is also a mini-beasts workshop for children aged between 5 and 12, featuring a colourful curation of large, live Australian invertebrate animals such as insects, arachnids and more! Learn about special physical adaptations, fascinating life cycles and how we can help these amazing animals within our ecosystems. Supervised handling of harmless animals included!

Tickets for all July school holiday workshops are on sale from 9am, Friday 21st June, 2024.
