Grade 6

Production

A couple weeks ago we had our production auditions. It was terrifying but thrilling at the same time. We all had to learn a bit of a song and sing it to some teachers. About 2 weeks later on one Monday morning we got the exhilarating news of our production. As the teachers handed out the scripts, the grade was a box full of buzzy bees waiting to read our exciting production. The grade was ecstatic as we read though the script. Most people were really happy with what they got, although some couldn’t wait until show time. Next term we will be practicing like crazy getting ready to hit the stage. We can’t wait to see you all on September 10th and 11th ready to watch us shine. We hope to see you there! By Ivy Hunt and Estelle Hinton.

Netball winter school sports

Two weeks ago, we had winter school sports. I played netball. It was so exciting and fun and we made it through to the next round. We came second out of all the schools there. Everyone improved a lot throughout the day. We started off not very good and not knowing the positions but at the end of the day we were going great and we knew all of the positions. Everyone had so much fun playing netball, a sport that we haven't played before. We are going to practise a lot at playtimes. We are looking forward to the next round in term 3!

T-ball winter school sports

My experience with playing t-ball WAS AMAZING!! I was in team two and we had a great time. We were a really small team, so small that other players from the other teams had to be on our team and you might think oh they have a small team they’re going to lose every game. But we actually won two games and lost 2 games, so we did pretty good. It did not rain one bit so that was nice. Everyone played really well and tried their hardest. We worked as a team and concord the games. Anyway, that’s all I can report for now, so thank you very much for putting this together so we can do this stuff.

Regional Cross CountryRegional cross country is a very high level in cross country. It was a very hard challenge to get to this level as there were 4 stages the finalists had to run through to make it this far. Congratulations to everyone that made it to regionals, it is a very high achievement and you should all be proud of yourself. We want to thank Mr A for putting together all these events for the year, we really appreciate all the hard work that you do.

Soccer Winter School Sports

Winter school sports is an excellent activity for 5 and 6 students. It is a great way to try different sports. Some of the students played soccer. We all had a great day learning how to play soccer. We didn’t make it to the next round but it didn’t matter because we had the best day. We won 1 of our games, drew 1 and lost 3.

Buddies

Hello, we are Bodhi and Fintan. Today we would like to discuss Buddies. Buddies is a really fun experience for the preps, grade 1, grade 5 and grade 6 students. It is lots of fun getting to know your buddie and bonding with them. We do many fantastic activities together, such as watching movies, playing Minecraft, drawing, and next week we will be having a pyjama party! Many schools do not have this inclusive learning opportunity. It is incredible to watch our buddies learn educationally and socially.
