Important Reminders

Training breaks and Holiday programs

A reminder that there will be a training break for Junior Stream squads (Novice, Blue, Bronze, Silver, Gold), Active, Adult and Masters squads from July 1st - 14th.

*Please be aware that you can request suspension of access memberships over the school holidays but coaching fees will continue to be charged. Coaching fees for the 40 weeks of training are averaged out across the whole year so you will pay every forntight, even when your swimmers are on holiday, however the price is the same.

 

Training for swimmers in Platinum, Platinum Junior Talent, State Target, Junior State, State Performance, National Target and National squad will continue over the school holidays. Please be sure to check the Holiday training timetables that have been sent via Operoo or in the July Holiday Training Timetable section of the newsletter.

Please renew your Swim Central memberships before June 30th

Swimming Victoria’s annual, compulsory memberships are due for renewal at the end of the financial year (before June 30th). Many of you may have received emails from Swim Central and/or can see a notification on your swimmer’s Swim Central account notifying you that their current membership will expire in a certain number of days. Memberships are now available for renewal. You can now log into Swim Central, visit the store and process your memberships. You have until June 30th to renew your memberships. Please remember to purchase your swimmer’s membership as well as a dry membership for the guardian on the account (primary account holder). The membership covers your swimmer’s insurance, which is extremely important. Any swimmers who have not renewed their membership from July 1st will not be allowed to train until it has been completed. This is to protect both your swimmer and the club in the event of an accident/injury while training. The memberships are compulsory for all swimmers in all squads, regardless of whether they are competing or not.

 

Swimming Victoria have created new membership options for the 2024-2025 financial year as follows:

  • Competitor membership - allows swimmers competition access to state, district and club level = $202.45 incl GST & Fees
  • Flexi Swimmer - classified as recreational, this membership is for swimmers 16 years and over to access training and club events only (ex. aggregates, club championships, etc). This membership is an attempt to help swimmers aged 16+ stay connected while balancing school, higher education, and work = $147.86 incl GST & Fees
  • National Competitor - this is a new category introduced by Swimming Australia for swimmers who qualify and compete at National Championships. Swimmers who don't hold national times for the 2024-2025 season at the time of renewal should purchase the Competitor membership and can then upgrade to the National Competitor membership when they achieve a national time= $219.90 incl GST & Fees
  • Dry membership - for guardians of all swimmers under the age of 18 years:   $15.46 incl GST & Fees

Maroondah Leisure access membership fees increasing from July 1st

All members who currently have access memberships should have received an email from Maroondah Leisure yesterday advising of a price increase as of July 1st, 2024.

These new prices will come into effect just as the school holidays start. If your swimmer is in a squad that doesn’t train over the school holidays, you can request a suspension of your access membership during this time either online or at reception.

Join our new RSC Private Facebook Group

We have created a new private Facebook group for parents/RSC members to maintain better control over ensuring only current members are part of the group. We will be deactivating the previous parent group called 'Ringwood Swimming Club Members and Parents' in the near future. If everyone could leave this group that would be great. Just go the Facebook page and click on the down arrow on the button "joined" and you can choose to leave the group.
