Principal's Report

We are now in the final two weeks of what has certainly been a busy term. Over the coming fortnight we have some significant aspects of our reporting process coming up.

Those being:

End of semester 1 reports become available on Friday (June 21st).  Over the past month staff have been busy completing assessments and then writing reports, which we hope you’ll find useful and informative.

Next week we have Parent Teacher Interviews on both Monday afternoon and Wednesday.  Hopefully you’ve booked in to speak with your child’s teacher/s, and don’t forget it’s an early dismissal (1pm) on Wednesday.

Casual Dress Day

Next Friday, June 28th on the last day of term we will have a casual dress day for all students.  Students are asked to bring along a gold coin donation.  The Voice of the Students (VOTS) team is currently holding an opportunity for all students to vote for their preferred charity for these funds to be donated to.  We will have an update in next week’s newsletter when all students have had a chance to vote with their class.

School Concert Update

Next term we have the whole school concert coming up, which will be a fantastic event for our entire school community.  Early next term, students will begin rehearsing and working on costumes, sets and props.  If this is something that you would be interested in helping with, please contact your child’s classroom teacher to let them know.

In the lead up to the concert next term, there will be lots of communication to parents and carers via the newsletter and Compass, so it will be important to monitor this communication so that you don’t end up missing important messages.

A reminder that the concert dates are as follows:

  • August 28th- dress rehearsal
  • August 29th- matinee and evening performance
  • August 30th- evening performance

Independent Secondary School Applications

Many parents at this stage of the year contact us with requests for their child's NAPLAN results to accompany their application for secondary school.

Please note, according to the VCAA timeline, student reports for NAPLAN are due to arrive from July 15th, meaning schools can expect to receive them some time within the fortnight from that date.  Once received, we will then send them home to families in hard copy format.

Our advice is to proceed with your secondary school application and then forward a copy of the NAPLAN report to your chosen school once you receive it.

Once you receive your child's NAPLAN report in July, we advise that it is stored in a safe place at home , as it may be required by your child's secondary school at a later date once they commence.

Scholarship Program Update

The Scholarship Programs are all humming along smoothly and the students continue to  be involved in many wonderful opportunities.

The Art Scholarship students are very close to completing the signs pictured below (just a sample). These signs were designed to welcome students to our school in the morning. The art students planned their messages around what they thought our students might need to see/hear of a morning. They are looking forward to sharing more information about this project at the final assembly this term.
