Physical Education : end of term wrap up

Interschool Sports

Our weekly competitions come to an end for the year with successful teams moving on to divisional and regional level championships. This year we have found a lot more competitive sides from other schools testing the skills and abilities of our students.

Well done to our teams in cricket, girls t-ball and mixed netball sides for making it through to divisional level. If you child plays in these teams, we will rely on parent volunteers to assist with transport.

Term 3 will consist of several gala days including basketball, futsal and potentially tennis Hot Shots and volleyball.

First Aid In Schools

Over the last week St John’s Ambulance educators have been at PPS educating our students about first aid. All year levels received age-appropriate information and skills this includes what to in an emergency. Over the course of their primary school years, students will develop a vast range of skills. Please have these conversations with your children at home to continue their development.

Cross Country

The Northern Metropolitan Regional Cross Country Championships was recently held at Kilmore Racetrack. Conditions were perfect for a day of running being a little bit cooler but having the sunshine to keep us warm. Thomas B, Quinn H, Ruby S, Jessica H, Amelia S, Phoebe J and Archie J all qualified from their success at divisional stage. The students were faced with a strong field of runners and tried their best.

Well done to Phoebe to who will be progressing through to the State Championships for her efforts. We wish her the best of luck!

PPS Athletics Carnival

During PE lessons, students have been completing trials for our up-and-coming PPS Athletics Carnival which will be held on Thursday 25th of July (Week 2 Term 3) at Coburg Athletics Track. From these trials the top 10 students will compete to represent PPS in track and field events at our district athletics carnival.

With a big emphasis on participation all students who do not make the top 10 will compete in fun house games to earn points for their house.  Points will be totalled up over the day and there will be a winning house.

More information to come early next term.

If you are able to volunteer on the day, please email Kristofer.mihal@education.vic.gov.au.
