Year 5 & 6 Term Two Topic Taking Action.

St Joseph's FIFA World Cup

As part of our Term Two Topic unit "Taking Action", we held the very first St. Joseph's FIFA World Cup. In the weeks leading up to the big day, we were allocated groups, then we picked our countries to research. We looked at the History of The World Cup and the social and demographic factors relating to each country.

As a team, we created a detailed presentation on each country and presented it to the Senior School. Each team created and designed their own jersey for the tournament. It was very interesting to see how each team created their own special and intricate details.

On the morning of the tournament, Grade 5C held the Opening Ceremony. Every team walked out and showed their different jerseys. Throughout the day, every team played three games in their group, with the top two teams in the pool progressing to the Finals. Some games went all the way to penalties and eventually the final was won by Canada!

We finished the day off with a Teacher vs Students game.
