Interschool Sport

Our term 2 weekly interschool sport matches are now finished. Unfortunately none of our teams made it to the finals, however there were some great results in football, teeball and soccer during the term. It was pleasing in our last match also against Anderson’s Creek that we were able to come away with wins in every sport. It was also nice to see some more parents coming along to watch and support our teams.

There is no weekly competition next term, however still a busy term with our House Athletics/Fun Day, Prep-2 swimming lessons, Open teeball round robin and the 3/4 Hooptime competition.

Could all soccer and AFL tops pleased be brought back to school, Hving been washed, before the end of term. Thank you.

Division Cross Country

Our 3 students, Mack, Baxter Smyth and Alice all did us proud with their efforts to qualify for and to compete in the Division cross country on the 4th June at Yarra Glen racecourse. Mack finished in 20th place, Baxter 33rd and unfortunately Alice had to pull out of her race because she became unwell. Congratulations to you all!

5/6 Hooptime

All students thoroughly enjoyed their day at Mullum Mullum stadium for the Hooptime competition. What made the day even more exciting was the fact that the All Star boys final and the Future Stars finals were Warrandyte versus Warrandyte! Congratulations to our 2 winning teams who now go on to the regional finals in term 4.

We were lucky to have student volunteers from Warrandyte High School come to help coach and score on the day, including Darcy Welsh , a former student at Warrandyte Primary. Thank you to parents Jesse, Maddie and Ben who coached teams and to the number of parents who scored. We cannot run these days for the students without your help. Thank you.

Could all singlets please be returned before the end of term.

Prep-2 Swimming Lessons

Swimming lessons begin on Monday 22nd July and run for 10 days until Friday 2nd August at Aquarena Aquatics and Leisure Centre. Information will be on Compass re class lesson times details and for permission and payment. If you are able to help please see your child’s teacher.

Clinics

This term years 2/3R and 3/4J have been fortunate to have Warrandyte High School VET students come in and run 4 clinics on soccer and AFL.

It’s a great opportunity for our 2 schools to work together.

Warrandyte netball club and Netball Victoria are also conducting netball clinics for the whole school to finish the off the term.
