Curriculum & Pathways Information Night

Tue 23 July, 5:45pm - 8:15pm

Next term, students in Years 8-11 will be asked to finalise their subjects for 2025 and the subject selection process is already underway with year level assemblies and conversations taking place over recent weeks. While this is an exciting process, it can also be stressful for parents and students, and we aim to provide quality resources and supports to assist in making the right choices.

Early next term students will be given the 2025 Curriculum Handbook which provides clear information about the subject and pathways offerings available at each year level. Families are also invited to our annual Curriculum and Pathways Information Night on Tuesday 23 July from 5:45 pm - 8:15 pm which is designed to support students to make their subject selections choices.

This year, our Information Night is bigger and better than ever with up to 20 Tertiary/TAFE providers invited along to provide information and advice to students about future vocations, training, apprenticeships and courses so they can make informed and appropriate choices about subjects for the following year. There are three main elements to the evening and families are encouraged to take advantage of all three:

The Curriculum Marketplace - parents and students can chat with teachers from each learning about subject offerings and subject pathways.

Pathways Hub – with Tertiary / TAFE Providers, our own VCE, VCE-VM and VET experts, and the Careers Team will be available to advice students on TAFE and university options, as well as information regarding entering the workforce.

Formal Presentations – will provide students in Year 8, 9 and 10 with specific information about course requirements and the subject selection process. NB - students interested in the VCE-VM pathway should attend both the VCE/VET and VCE-VM presentations
