Where We Are In Place and Time 

The Year 1 Students have begun their next unit of inquiry, ‘Journeys have evolved over time.’ 

 The lines of inquiry will include; 

• The different ways we can make a journey. 
• The way our journeys have changed over time 
• Why transport has evolved over time. 
•  

This week they have unpacked the central idea and put together a class definition of what a journey is as well as creating mind maps of the different types of transport. They are all looking forward to their excursion to Puffing Billy next Monday. 

What is a Journey? 

• Going somewhere you have never been before. (Henry 1A) 
• Going on a trip by car, train, boat or plane. (Sava 1A) 
• Going to different places. (Matisse 1B) 
• Traveling. (Amber 1B) 
• Transporting people to different places. (Mia 1C)
