The Biggest Morning

Tea

The Orange group put in weeks of effort leading up to the biggest morning tea event. Every Monday afternoon, students gathered to prepare slices and cupcakes, which were then froze in anticipation of the big day. Each student took on the task of researching their own recipes, ranging from chocolate balls to delectable brownies - a mouthwatering endeavour, indeed! The students showed exceptional teamwork and dedication throughout the process, and they should feel immensely proud of their contributions. Together, we successfully raised funds for cancer research, a cause close to our hearts.

Australia's Biggest Morning Tea is a community event that raises vital funds to make a big difference for those impacted by cancer. Almost 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85. We here at Plenty River College wanted to help raise funds for vital cancer research by hosting our first ever Biggest Morning Tea. This invaluable project contributed to many learning outcomes in the academic areas of Literacy, Numeracy and Personal Development studies.

Throughout Term 2 Orange class students worked very hard at planning, budgeting, designing, purchasing, making and baking and implementing a very successful community event that was held on Tuesday 28th May. Many of our community partners attended this incredible event at the college and we proudly raised $234.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all those who donated, your kindness contributed to making this a wonderful and very successful community event.

Congratulations to all students in Orange class for a brilliant project and thank you to all the staff members who helped in the lead up and on the day.
