Student Excursions

Bunnings

Purple group students took part in a community event last week, volunteering at the Bunnings sausage sizzle in Mernda, they helped raise $350, students are yet to decide where this year’s donations will be allocated.

Their involvement in the sausage sizzle integrated with their numeracy, personal development skills, and work-related skills curriculum areas. Handling money enhanced their numeracy skills, while organizing and managing the event developed their personal and work-related skills.

VET Expo

Students attended the VET Discovery Day at the Broadmeadows Town Hall on the 30th of May. Students were able to interact with industry professionals, gaining information about potential future educational and training pathways. They were also able to take part in interactive displays and activities related to future professions. The professionals were very informative and were able to clarify what the students needed to do to become fully qualified in their chosen fields, as well as the educational requirements involved beforehand. Some of the different organisations present included RMIT, Hume Council Youth Services, ANWU, Kangan Batman, Victoria Uni, Melbourne Airport, Harvester Tech College, Amigo Montessori and AGA.
