Sexual Health Victoria – Week 1

On the 14th of May, Kardie from Sexual Health Victoria came to give the first weekly presentation to students. Following on from the excursion last term, Kardie discussed respect in relationships, and what a healthy relationship timeline looks like. Students participated in an activity where they placed different milestones in a relationship on a timeline, and then discussed if they thought they were in the right place. Kardie also held discussions around consent, the age of consent and power dynamics.

Sexual Health Victoria – Week 2

In the second session on the 21st of May, Kardie covered the reasons people may or may not choose to engage in sexual activity, identified safer sex practices, and discussed various types of contraception and pregnancy options. The students were also introduced to STI prevention, testing and treatment, and received valuable information on emergency contraception and abortions

Sexual Health Victoria – Week 3

The third session on the 27th of May focused on online safety and the impact of media on relationships. Students learned about the laws regarding pornography and sexting, how to report illegal content online, and the importance of safe online behaviour. The session also covered sexting and the potential legal implications.

These presentations have been instrumental in providing our students with comprehensive knowledge and fostering open discussions about these critical topics. We are grateful to Kardie and Sexual Health Victoria for their continued support and expertise.
