Year 1/2 Report

Another Term done! It has been a fantastic Term 2 with all students engaged in a lot of learning and fun activities. Well done to all the 1/2 students.

Literacy

During the Term, students have learnt the differences between fiction and non fiction texts.  They have worked extensively on features of non fiction texts and have applied this understanding to write their own pieces, incorporating key features.  During reading students have been developing comprehension strategies such as questioning and summarising in order to improve their understanding of the texts they are reading.  Throughout the Term, the students have also been working on their reading goals and participating in conferences and guided reading.

Numeracy

This semester in Maths students have been working on duration of time , data and addition and subtraction. They have also participated in number talks and challenging tasks.

Inquiry

In Inquiry students have continued to explore being healthy in lots of different ways such as, sleep, hygiene and mindfulness. The students also had a visit from Harold the giraffe who spoke to them about being healthy.
