WHAT A GREAT DAY!!

This year we have introduced Immersion Day. 

This is a day where students rotate through different activities related to Next Semesters Inquiry unit. 

Next Semester students will be exploring:

History and Geography 

WHERE WE ARE IN PLACE AND TIME:

An exploration of our orientation in place and time; characteristics of places that make up our world; our personal histories; the discoveries, explorations and migrations of humankind. 

Students today got to experience many different activities related to Where we are in place and time.

The purpose of this day is for students to tune into the topics that will be covered next Semester. 

Through these activities today teachers had the opportunity to tune in to students’ thinking and activate their prior knowledge; they designed tasks that made the students’ thinking visible.

Today is also an opportunity for teachers to ask wondering questions of students to take with them on planning week next week to help guide the lessons they teach next Semester to help answer the many questions today has sparked for our students. 

We cannot wait to hear all about the new discoveries our students explore next Semester and the answers to the many questions student now have.
