Staff Moving On

As we look ahead to the end of 2026, we acknowledge and celebrate several valued members of our team who will be moving on to new and exciting chapters in their careers. While we are sad to see them go, we are incredibly proud of the contributions they have made to our community and wish them every success in their next endeavours.

  • Emily Glen will be taking up a new position at St Kilda Park, where we know she will continue to inspire and support students and staff with the same dedication she has shown here.
  • Tegan Kitteringham is heading to Eastern Ranges Special School, bringing her passion for inclusive education to a new setting where her expertise will be deeply appreciated.
  • Katrina Chooi will be joining Eltham College, and we are confident that her professionalism and warmth will make a meaningful impact within their learning community.
  • Steph De Cerff will be moving to Vermont Primary School, where she will be a valued member of their community and continue to lead fantastic extra curricular events as she has at MPRPS,
  • Kathy Wang is embarking on an exciting interstate move to John Paul College in Brisbane, where her skills and positivity will no doubt enrich their school environment.
  • Emily Werner has successfully completed her six-month contract with us, and we would like to extend our sincere thanks for her dedication and the excellent teaching she provided to class 34SE. Her hard work, positive attitude, and commitment to our students have been greatly appreciated, and we wish her the very best in her future endeavors.
  • As we know Bu Yana will be welcoming her baby at the beginning of 2026. We are excited for her and wish her a healthy, joyful pregnancy and a smooth transition into this new chapter of her life.

We sincerely thank Em, Tegan, Katrina, Steph, Emily, Yana and Kathy for their hard work, dedication, and the lasting contributions they have made. They will be greatly missed, and we wish each of them every success as they begin these new journeys.

Education support staff Luda Melnychuk and Jo Smaller are also moving on at the end of the year, and we want to take a moment to acknowledge the tremendous impact they’ve had on our school community. Their dedication, patience, and genuine care for students and staff alike have made a real difference every single day. Whether they were providing behind-the-scenes support, stepping in wherever needed, or offering a friendly face and a steady presence, Luda and Jo have consistently gone above and beyond.

We are in the final stages of staffing, with just one position still to be filled. I anticipate that by next week I will be able to confirm and announce the full list of teachers.

Public Speaking Competition

On Tuesday, Mina, Oscar, Anouk and Johanna attended Rangeview Primary School to represent our school in an interschool public speaking competition judged by members of the local Toastmasters group. The students were outstanding in their presentations, speaking with confidence, clarity, and maturity beyond their years. Their ideas were thoughtful and inspiring, and they represented our school with pride.

We are incredibly proud of their achievements and commend them on their preparation, courage, and enthusiasm.

Basketball Courts

The basketball courts have recently undergone three patch tests as we work to find the best solution for making the grey outer area safe during wet weather. At the moment, this section becomes too slippery when it rains, which means we haven’t been able to open the full courts for student use.

We are pleased to share that we are very close to finding an effective fix, and the latest tests look promising. Our aim is to have the courts fully safe, functional, and ready for students to enjoy during the last few weeks of term.

Thank you for your patience as we work to ensure the area is safe for everyone

Dance Troupe

On Sunday, a group of enthusiastic Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 students, led by Tegan, entered a local dance competition. It was a fantastic morning and a wonderful opportunity for our students to showcase their enthusiasm, creativity, and talent for dance and performance. Both groups performed brilliantly, demonstrating confidence, teamwork, and a real love for what they were doing.

We are incredibly proud to share that both teams came first in their school group category, an outstanding achievement that reflects not only their hard work but also the supportive environment they have built together.

A very special thank you goes to Tegan for her dedication, energy, and guidance. Her commitment to the students and her passion for dance have helped them grow in skill and confidence, and this result is a testament to her efforts.

Congratulations to all involved. What a wonderful way to celebrate our students’ talents!

Bike Ed & Gynmantsics

In the last 2 weeks our Bike Ed program has been running for Year 5/6 has been a fun and practical program that helped our students build confidence and skills when riding their bikes. It teaches important safety rules, like how to signal, check for traffic, and wear protective gear properly. Students also get to practise real riding techniques like starting, stopping, turning, and navigating different environments so they can ride safely on paths and roads. Overall, Bike Ed encourages independence, responsibility, and healthy habits while making sure everyone feels comfortable and capable on their bike.

Students have participated in a gymnastics incursion, where they explored a range of movement skills, balance activities, and fun physical challenges. They learned how to safely use equipment, practise coordination, and work both independently and in small groups. The session encouraged confidence, teamwork, and resilience as students tried new skills and pushed themselves to improve.
