Junior School News

This year has been an incredible journey for our Prep, Year One and Year Two students, filled with growth, giggles, and lots of proud moments, like mastering tricky words, tackling new maths challenges, exploring hands-on learning experiences, and even remembering where their hats and jackets disappeared to (most of the time!).
We are so grateful to our wonderful teachers, LSOs and parents for their endless support, encouragement and teamwork in helping our young learners shine. As our students move into their next year of learning, we know they will take with them confidence, curiosity and the excitement to embrace new adventures. Here is to a joyful summer and an even brighter year ahead!
Before we wrap up the year, we wanted to share some of the things our students have loved most about their time in the Junior School. Their reflections capture the joy, curiosity and big-hearted spirit that have filled our classrooms this year.
Prep Highlights: A Year to Remember

Sugar, Spice & Everything Nice
Our Prep students had the most wonderful time welcoming their parents and special friends into the STEM room for some festive Christmas baking! The room was buzzing with excitement, sweet smells and plenty of giggles, especially when a few enthusiastic chefs realised just how far crushed biscuits can scatter. Some parents discovered that trying to roll perfectly round rum balls is harder than it looks, while a few students proudly declared their creations “the yummiest in the land.” With chocolatey hands, coconut everywhere and smiles all around, it was a joyful morning of fun, teamwork and special memories made just in time for Christmas.
Lots of smiles and hearts coming together for Day for Daniel!

Heggerty All-Stars
We are so proud of our Year One students for graduating from their Heggerty program! They showed amazing dedication, practising every single day without missing a beat, who knew we had such committed little phonics fans? Their hard work has paid off, and it has been wonderful to see them grow into confident, enthusiastic readers. We can’t wait to see all the fantastic reading adventures that lie ahead!

Little Fins, Big Wins
Our students had a fantastic time participating in the swimming program this year! Beyond learning important water safety skills, they gained confidence, independence and resilience as they challenged themselves in the pool. It’s been wonderful to see them develop not only their swimming abilities but also teamwork, perseverance and self-assurance along the way.
Final Sprint, Full of Colour
Our students had an absolute blast taking part in the Colour Run this year! With bright smiles, colourful clouds of powder and plenty of excited cheering, they dashed, danced and zoomed their way through the course. The fun reached a whole new level with the hilarious sliming of our brave teachers, which had everyone laughing and cheering even louder. It was a joyful celebration of teamwork, energy and school spirit, and the excitement stayed with them long after the last splash of colour settled!
We would like to warmly wish the Hospodars and Paulstons all the very best as their children leave our school. Thank you for being such a special part of our community, we will miss you and your wonderful children, and we wish you every happiness and success in the next chapter of your journey!
We wish all our families a safe, restful and joy-filled holiday break. May your Christmas be full of laughter, special moments and time spent with loved ones. Thank you for your support, kindness and partnership throughout the year, it has meant so much. We hope you enjoy a well-deserved break, and we look forward to welcoming you back, refreshed and ready for another exciting year ahead!
