💙 Where strength meets kindness and learning thrives.

Dear Parents, Carers and Supporters

As we come to the end of 2025, it's time to reflect on our achievements...

Our 2025 Year 6 students have truly shone!

  • They have been compassionate, showing kindness and care for their peers during play and learning, especially when supporting their younger buddies.
  • They have been inclusive, welcoming everyone in games and group work. They’ve developed impressive skills in coaching and encouraging others, even those who needed extra support.
  • They have shown confidence, tackling new and challenging learning experiences with determination and a positive attitude.
  • They have been wonderfully collaborative, especially in their leadership teams. They worked together to plan events that considered everyone’s interests and brought joy to all students at St Joseph’s.
  • And they have demonstrated courage—making brave decisions even when those choices weren’t the most popular, stepping up to lead assemblies and liturgies in front of the whole school community, joining sports teams when numbers were needed, and performing in front of others even when it felt outside their comfort zone.

We extend our heartfelt thanks and farewell to Yvette Lupa, Eiza McNamara, Kris Fellows, Moni Ingram, and Fleur McInnes. Each of these wonderful staff members has made an invaluable contribution to our school community and to the learning journey of every student. St Joseph’s has been truly enriched by your dedication and care. We are deeply grateful for all you have given and wish you every success and happiness in your future endeavors.

2025 has been a year of exciting transformation in teaching and learning.

Both teachers and students embraced new routines and innovative ways to demonstrate their learning. Thanks to the strong foundation built in 2023 and 2024, our teachers were well-prepared—making the shift primarily about new programs and practices rather than starting from scratch. This preparation ensured a smooth transition from our 2024 work with Jocelyn Seamer to the MAGNIFY approach in 2025. Our commitment to high-quality resources remains steadfast, and students continue to thrive through an evidence-based curriculum.

To all our amazing students at St Joseph’s: In 2025, you worked hard, built wonderful friendships, and achieved so much in your learning. You discovered more about yourselves as learners and embraced the changes in how we teach—understanding that these shifts were designed to help you learn even better. Now it’s time to enjoy a well-deserved break! We can’t wait to welcome you back in 2026, ready for new adventures filled with curiosity, learning, and play.

To our wonderful families

Thank you for your unwavering support throughout this school year. As true partners in your child’s learning journey, you have played a vital role in their success. We deeply appreciate the trust you placed in us as we introduced changes to teaching and learning, and for the encouragement you have shown to our staff. Wishing you a restful and joy-filled holiday, and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2026 for another exciting year of growth and learning.

Finally, to our incredible staff

As another year comes to a close, we want to express our deepest gratitude. Under MAGNIFY, you have worked tirelessly with the spotlight on every child, every day. It has been a privilege to witness your collaboration, your commitment to learning together, and the way you support one another. Thank you for your dedication, compassion, and for bringing joy and fun into our school community. You truly deserve a well-earned break, and we look forward to stepping into 2026 with optimism and excitement alongside you.

Looking ahead to 2026

The year ahead promises to be filled with meaningful learning and memorable moments. Our teachers are energized and ready for the next stage of our MAGNIFY journey, focused on supporting every learner at their point of need. As we begin 2026, we will complete screeners for all students to ensure they are placed appropriately and receive the support they need to succeed. This is our unwavering commitment to you and your children!

Working Bee – Getting Our Grounds Ready

As we prepare for the return of all students, keep an eye out for details about our upcoming Working Bee. With the Australia Day long weekend just before school resumes, we’ll be taking a creative approach by posting a list of jobs that need doing and inviting volunteers to help complete them. Your support will make a big difference in ensuring our grounds are ready for a great start to the year!

As we wrap up the year, I want to say a heartfelt thank you for your support as we navigated another school year together. Every year brings its share of challenges, but far more moments of celebration. It’s easy to focus on what didn’t go as planned, yet there is so much to appreciate in what we achieved. My greatest highlight has been working alongside you to ensure your child feels happy and supported as they learn.
