From the Principal's Desk...

Dear Parents and Caregivers
It is hard to believe that we only have 7 school days left of the 2025 school year! When we reflect on all that we have achieved, celebrated and learnt this year it is had to believe only 40 weeks have gone by. Grandparent's Day, Swimming Lessons, Interschool events and Incursions. Term 4 has been a busy and exciting term.
Over the next week and a half, we will celebrate the 2025 school year with a number of events which we welcome all parents/caregivers to attend.
Christmas Concert
This Friday is our annual St Helena’s Carols Evening! Our students have been busy rehearsing a mix of Christmas classics and some exciting new songs and the Year Ones are busy learning their lines to take us back to the very first Christmas with their Nativity performance.
All families are warmly invited to join us on the grass outside the library from 5:00pm for a picnic dinner. Ellenbrook St Vincent de Paul will be hosting a sausage sizzle (cash and cashless payments available), and our P&F will be selling Christmas raffle tickets via QuickCliq. To allow everyone a great view, we ask that all chairs are positioned towards the back. At 5:45pm, students will assemble at their classrooms to get ready for the event, which begins at 6:00pm. Click here for the program!
We ask that families please park on the bottom oval and help us respect our neighbours by avoiding front verges and non-standing zones. To ensure our performers have the attention they deserve and keep everyone safe, we kindly ask that no children (or adults!) use the playgrounds or basketball court before, during or after the event.
We can’t wait to share this special evening with you and look forward to lots of Christmas cheer and St Helena's spirit!
Year 1 to Year 5 End of Year Activity
Our Year 1 to Year 5 students are eagerly getting ready for their excursion to Bounce this Monday! This exciting outing not only celebrates the end of a fantastic school year but also reinforces our teaching of protective behaviours in a fun and engaging way. Information has been shared with families via email.
Transition Morning
As we finish up the 2025 school year, we look towards 2026 and all the excitement of new school years and classes. On Tuesday 9th December our Kindy to Year 5 students will venture into their new year level classrooms as they learn all about what the coming year has in store for them. A reminder that class placement information will be sent out on Friday 19 December and that students have carefully been placed in classes with friends and where their teachers believe they will succeed.
End of Year Thanksgiving Mass
On Friday, 12th December, we will gather in the UCA for our End-of-Year Mass to give thanks to God for the many blessings we have received throughout the year. All families are warmly invited to join us for this special celebration.
Following the Mass, we will announce our 2026 Student Leaders and hold a handover ceremony between the current leaders and those stepping into their new roles. Parents of the 2026 leaders have already been contacted and we kindly request that this information is kept confidential until the announcement.
Class of 2025
Our Year 6 students have a big final week of Primary School ahead of them, with their Graduation Mass and Awards Ceremony on Tuesday 9th December and Graduation Breakfast and Excursion on Wednesday 10th December. On Friday 12th December we will gather as a school to celebrate the Class of 2025 as they depart St Helena's for the final time. All of our Year 6 students have been amazing student leaders this year, and have truly lived out the school values of Community, Equality, Respect and Care for the Earth in all the activities they have led and way they have behaved each day. They have set an amazing example for our whole school community. Well done Year 6, we can't wait to see you continue to do 'Something Beautiful for God'.
End of Year Reports
A highlight for me this term, has been reading each child's report and seeing the growth they have made over the past four terms. It has been wonderful to read the teachers comments and see how each child's personality is valued in their class. I encourage all parents/caregivers to sit with their children when their reports come out next week, and reflect on the growth they have made this year as well as set goals for the future.
Final Newsletter for 2025!
The final newsletter for this year will be sent out on Wednesday 17th of December 2025.
Have a lovely week!
