Student Engagement & Wellbeing

Launching SWPBS at the College in 2026
As we draw the year to a close, we would like to extend our thanks to students, staff, and families for their commitment, resilience, and contribution to another successful year of learning and growth.
Throughout 2025, our college has continued to strengthen the culture of respect and diversity by developing understanding of responsibility, kindness and care for each other. We have continually focused on promoting excellence through high expectations in everything we do and say.
In 2026, we are excited to take the important next step in our whole-school approach to wellbeing and behaviour by launching our Keysborough College School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework. SWPBS is an evidence-based model used across schools in Australia and internationally to create consistent, predictable, and positive learning environments where all students can thrive.
Throughout 2025, our staff have been working behind the scenes to prepare for this launch—reviewing our current practices, analysing behaviour data, and developing a clear set of expected behaviours that reflect our college values.
In 2026, families and students will see this work come to life through:
A clearly defined behaviour matrix aligned to our values
Consistent routines and expectations across all learning areas
Explicit teaching of expected behaviours using the Tell–Show–Practice–Monitor–Re-teach model
A positive reinforcement system that acknowledges and celebrates students who demonstrate our
values
Improved data-informed decision making to support early intervention and targeted wellbeing support
SWPBS is about building a safe, calm, and inclusive environment where both students and staff know what to expect and feel confident in their roles. We are proud to be implementing this framework and look forward to partnering with our families as we embed these practices across the College.
We wish all members of our college community a safe and restful break and look forward to an exciting year ahead.
