Executive Principals' Report

As we publish our final College Newsletter for 2025, it’s impossible not to feel the excitement that always accompanies the end of the school year. What a remarkable journey this year has been. From the moment we welcomed students back at our first day assemblies, right through to our house day celebrations, including the vibrant Colour Run at both campuses on Wednesday, 2025 has been a year defined by growth, achievement, and community spirit.

Our Year 12 students began the festive season on a high, receiving outstanding VCE results that reflect their hard work, determination and the unwavering support of our staff and families. We have published snapshots of these results through our social media accounts, but we would like to acknowledge the Keysborough College Dux who is from the Acacia Campus Mouy Soung Ly with an ATAR score of 97.05 and the Banksia Campus Dux is Ken Ho with an ATAR score of 96.3. Mouy Soung is an International student who has done us all proud and Ken is a local lad with the future at his feet. We are so proud of both of them and the entire Year 12 Cohort.

Throughout the year, success could be seen everywhere: on the sporting field, on stage, in the classroom, and in countless personal milestones that make our school such a special place. We are incredibly proud that our annual School Performance Report placed Keysborough College in the ‘High’ performance category, the highest possible rating. Equally inspiring were the exceptional results from our Attitudes to School Survey, which showed significant gains across all areas of engagement, wellbeing, safety and connectedness. These results place our students’ sense of belonging and satisfaction well above state averages and into the top percentiles, a testament to the positive learning culture our community continues to build together. Parents and carers echoed these sentiments in their own surveys, expressing high levels of confidence in the safe, inclusive, and caring environment we provide.

Our students continue to take on exciting opportunities beyond the classroom too. This week, our boys’ and girls’ volleyball teams are representing the College at the Australian Volleyball Schools Cup on the Gold Coast. We extend our sincere thanks to Mr Van and Ms Riley for their organisation, support and leadership. You can see a snapshot of the team departing from Tullamarine below, full of energy and ready to compete.

While last week brought challenges that none of us could have anticipated, our community showed what it truly means to embody the Keysborough College spirit. The genuine kindness, compassion and unity displayed by students, families and staff was both humbling and deeply appreciated. Moments like these remind us that our values are not just words, they are reflected in the way we care for one another and pull together, especially in difficult and challenging times.

As we head into the holiday break, it’s worth pausing to reflect on what matters most. When we strip away the busyness of daily routines, deadlines, work commitments and the constant rush we find ourselves in, we are left with the relationships and connections that ground us. These moments of genuine human connection define who we are, remind us of what we truly value, and shape the strength of our community. At Keysborough College, it is these bonds that continue to make our school such a warm, caring place to belong.

To wrap up a year of hard work, success, resilience and celebration, we wish all our families a joyful, relaxing and safe holiday period. May the break be filled with rest, happiness and time spent with loved ones. Thank you for your continued support and for helping to make Keysborough College a place where every young person can thrive.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2026, ready for another year of learning, growth and kindness. Warm wishes for a wonderful holiday season.
