Principal Update

Message from the Principal
As we approach the end of another remarkable year at Balmoral State High School, I am incredibly proud to share that our school has been recognised as one of Australia’s 5-Star Innovative Schools for 2025 by The Educator.
This national recognition places Balmoral among just 42 schools across the country leading the way in reshaping education. Now in its eleventh year, the 5-Star Innovative Schools report celebrates institutions that are breaking the mould of traditional learning through forward-thinking teaching, dynamic learning environments, and authentic pathways that equip young people for success beyond the classroom.
Being acknowledged in this way is a testament to the dedication, creativity, and commitment of our staff; the enthusiasm and drive of our students; and the ongoing support of our families and broader community. Our innovation journey is built on partnership, trust, and a shared belief that every student deserves opportunities that inspire, challenge, and empower them.
Throughout 2025, we worked together to create impactful, hands-on learning experiences grounded in real-world outcomes. To see this work recognised on a national stage is both humbling and energising. It reinforces our commitment to continually improving, adapting, and striving for excellence as we prepare our young people for a rapidly changing world.
As we look ahead to 2026, I am excited for what the future holds. We will continue to build on this momentum, prioritising innovative practice, strong relationships, and meaningful opportunities for every student to thrive. To our students, families, community partners, and staff — thank you. Your support, engagement, and belief in our school make achievements like this possible. Balmoral is a special place because of the people who are part of it.
On behalf of our staff and leadership team, I wish you all a safe, happy, and restful holiday season. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2026 for another year of growth, connection, and success.
Regards,
Timothy Barraud
Principal
