A message from Emily Murcott - Assistant Principal / Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader

Dear Families,

As we wrap up another busy and joy-filled school year, we want to wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a restful, sunshine-filled summer break. This time of year is such a special chance to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the little moments that matter most. We hope the weeks ahead bring plenty of laughter, togetherness, and the chance to recharge.

Over the break, you might enjoy trying a few simple, wellbeing-focused activities together:

  • Create a “Summer Memory Jar” – Each day or week, add a note about something that made you smile. Read them back on the last day of holidays.
  • Family Nature Walks – Explore a local park, beach, or trail. Move your bodies, notice the sounds and colours around you, and enjoy being outdoors together.
  • Screen-Free Evenings – Pick one night a week for board games, card challenges, or a backyard picnic under the stars.
  • Cook a Meal Together – Choose a recipe as a family and let everyone take on a small role. It’s a fun way to connect, laugh, and share a sense of achievement.
  • Start a Summer Bookshelf – Visit the local library and let everyone choose a holiday read. Create a cosy reading corner at home.

We are so grateful for your support, kindness, and partnership throughout the year. Your children bring joy, curiosity, and heart to our school community every single day, and it is truly a privilege to be part of their journey.

Wishing you a festive, peaceful Christmas and a wonderful start to the new year. We look forward to seeing you all refreshed and ready for another exciting year ahead.

Kind Regards,

Emily Murcott
