Year 9 Community Service Camp

This week our Year 9 students have been immersed in a memorable Community Service Week across Red Cliffs and Mildura. It has been a wonderful opportunity for them to give back, build independence, and finish the school year with a sense of pride and connection.

Throughout the week, students have been actively involved in helping the local community, supporting various organisations, lending a hand where needed, and learning firsthand the impact that small acts of service can have. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and positive attitude have been fantastic to see.

Outside of their community work, students have enjoyed some well-earned downtime. Afternoons at the pool have been a highlight, as well as cooking delicious dinners together at the church where we are staying. Shared meals, laughter, and a cosy movie night have helped create a warm and memorable end-of-year atmosphere.

It has been a rewarding week of learning, service, and fun, an experience we hope they will carry with them into Year 10 and beyond.

Year 7 & 8 Guest Speaker

On the last Monday of school, Year 7 and 8 had a visit from a guest speaker who was informative on many curriculum levels - author, illustrator, VFX artist and creative Richard Pritchard.

Richard took time to walk the students through his Samoan tattoo and its meaning, which linked into their Year 8 Humanities unit on Pacific Island Culture. Richard was then able speak to the classes about story and character creation and answer their many questions on writing a book series.

Food Tech

Last week in Senior School Food Technology, the kitchens were filled with the warm, festive smell of freshly baked gingerbread. Students across Years 7 and 8, as well as our mixed Year 9, 10 & 12 class, rolled up their sleeves and created their own delicious gingerbread people (and a few creative variations!).

The activity helped students practise key skills such as accurate measuring, dough handling, safe oven use, and creative decorating. It was a wonderful way to finish the term with some fun, teamwork, and plenty of sweet treats.

Well done to all students for their enthusiasm and fantastic results!
