Mr Matt Elson

Hello Gympie East parents, carers and community,

Just a few days left of the school year for 2025! Thankyou for your support of our school this year, I have appreciated the parent support we have received. Thankyou to everyone who donated goods for the end of year raffle and to those who purchased tickets. It was a terrific Christmas Concert and is always a fun night. A few events still to go with our Year 6 cohort graduating today, Swimming Carnival on Wednesday, then Breakup Day on Thursday. We will have a parade on Friday at 9:15am then students are welcome to go home or stay as we pack up classrooms in preparation for having the carpets cleaned over the holidays. Students can wear free dress on Friday.

For 2026, we will return to school on Monday 19th January to start preparing for the year. The uniform shop will be open Tuesday 20th January from 9am-12pm, so please come down and purchase uniforms then.

In terms of class formations for 2026, we are still waiting on enrolments before these can be finalised. Unfortunately, we are a couple of students short of our ideal class structure. As a result, we are not going to confirm which classrooms students are in until the week before school returns. I know this makes things difficult for you as parents but I do not want to put a list out and then have to change it if enrolments come in. Rest assured I am doing everything I can to ensure classes are balanced and each learner is catered for.

Our PBL focus for this week is to 'Always be Our Best'. As we finish up with these final events of the year, we want our students to be the best they can be and finish on a positive note.

Report Card Results

I am very happy to present excellent report card results for Semester Two, 2025.

Our goal for this year was 50% achieving an A or B in English, we have exceeded that by reaching 53.8%. This also means that 92.3% have achieved an A, B or C which is outstanding.

In Maths, 71.4% have achieved an A or B which is an astonishing achievement and 93.4% have achieved an A, B or C.

Below are also some behaviour and effort graphs. Positive classroom behaviour and high effort have a direct correlation with high academic results. Well done to our entire school community!

Report cards will be sent out via email on Thursday. If you do not receive it by Friday, please email admin@gympieeastss.eq.edu.au and I will send it across to you individually.
