Year 2 Excursion - Vaucluse House - Friday 14 August 2026

As part of our Term 3 History unit, Changes in Technology, Year 2 students have been exploring how people lived in the past and how technology has changed over time.

On Friday 14 August 2026, Year 2 students will participate in an excursion to Vaucluse House. During the visit, students will discover what life was like in the 1860s for the Wentworth family and the people who worked as servants in the household.

Working as history detectives, students will investigate the bedrooms, kitchen, drawing room, scullery and kitchen garden, searching for clues to help them understand how a grand mansion operated in the 1860s. As they explore the house and its grounds, students will also take part in a range of hands-on activities that will bring history to life and deepen their understanding of daily life in the past.

Students are to be at school at normal time for roll call and bus departure at 9.00am SHARP. Girls will return to school at 2.45pm in time for normal school carline collection or Extra Curricular activities.
