This week, reach out to others. This may be as simple as reconnecting with a neighbour, visiting the elderly or helping out in the community. We are called to love and care for others.
Friday 8th March - Free Hat Friday (Caritas Fundraiser, Gold Coin)
Sunday 10th March - Family Mass (9.00am)
Tuesday 12th March - First Confession (4.00pm)
Friday 15th March - Green Mufti Day for St. Patrick (Caritas Fundraiser, Gold Coin)
During Lent we try to think of others, especially those less fortunate. Project Compassion is a wonderful program run by Caritas Australia to raise funds for communities in need. On Ash Wednesday, each student brought home a money box for families to make donations throughout Lent. These will be collected at the end of the term. Each classroom will have a donation box, to encourage students to help those in need.
Please ensure you have consented and paid prior to the event on Compass. There are still a large number of students who haven't consented. You must consent or decline the event.
Started Monday 26/2/24
We are very excited to give the students at St Edward’s Primary School the opportunity to participate in the 2024 NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge. This is a proud tradition at St Edward’s and every student is invited wholeheartedly to participate.
Every student at the Infants Campus will automatically be signed up to the challenge and read books from the challenge as part of their class and library sessions.
Primary students wanting to participate in the Challenge will need to see Mrs Michell in the library.
The challenge aims to encourage in students a love of reading for leisure and pleasure, and to enable students to experience quality literature. It is not a competition but a challenge for each student to read, to read more and to read more widely. There is an age appropriate list of books that participants can choose from to read (also be read to) and if they experience the required amount of books they will receive a special Premier’s Reading Challenge certificate.
I have started handing out user names and passwords to Primary students that want to join the challenge. If your child has not received their logon details by next Friday 8/3/24 please ask them to come see me in the library or email cmichell@arm.catholic.edu.au students can join the challenge at any time, but the end date remains the same.
The Challenge begins on Monday 26th February and runs until Friday 23rd August, 2024.
PLEASE NOTE!! Any books on the list that your child has read (or you have read to your child for K - 2) over the summer holidays can be counted for this year’s Challenge.
