POPARTS Trivia Night

The Gap State High School's Annual PoPArts Trivia Night is back for its 22nd year! Come and join quizmaster Andrew McMicking for a fantastic night of trivia and prizes.

Confident and Capable

The Gap State High School Parents as Partners program is hosting a twilight session with Dr Judith Locke, Clinical Psychologist.

Date: Monday 15 April 2024

Time: 6:00 pm

Location: The Gap State High School - Auditorium

Cost: $25.00 (inclusive of GST and Booking fee)

 

Helping your child become confident and capable 

In this session, Judith uses latest research and clinical experience to show positive and effective strategies parents can use to help their children become more confident and capable and help the family become more harmonious.

 

The sessions

  • assist parents ensure their child experiences fulfilling years at school
  • offer solutions to parents to help children cope better with the demands of school and schoolwork and encourage their child’s personal motivation and independence
  • give parents strategies they can use to ensure their relationship with their child remains positive
  • help parents assist their child develop maturity and responsibility to do well in their life beyond school.

 

Mental Health Education Session

Headspace Schools & Communities would like to invite you to attend a Mental Health Education session for Parents and Carers of The Gap State High School.

Date: Tuesday 7 May 2024

Time: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Location: The Gap State High School - Auditorium

Cost: Free

This interactive session will cover: 

  • Mental health and wellbeing in adolescence
  • How to have conversations with young people about their mental health & wellbeing
  • Strategies for parents and carers about how to support their young person
  •  Where you and your young person can go for support 

Please note: These sessions are not suitable for young people to attend.
