Maximising opportunities

The Power of Organisation

I wanted to take a moment to shed some light on the commendable efforts of our Connect teachers who are instilling the value of utilising diaries among our students.

It is heartening to witness the dedication to this practice, as it can truly contribute to the growth and development of our students.

Our students can benefit from using diaries in various ways. Here are some potential advantages:

1. Organisation and Time Management

Diaries help students keep track of assignments, projects, and deadlines. By planning their schedule and setting goals, students can improve time management skills.

2. Reflection and Self-Awareness

Writing in a diary allows students to reflect on their thoughts, experiences, and emotions. It promotes self-awareness and helps them understand their strengths, weaknesses, and personal growth.

3. Stress Relief

Expressing thoughts and emotions on paper can be a therapeutic outlet, reducing stress and anxiety. It provides a private space for students to vent and reflect without judgement.

4. Goal Setting and Achievement

Diaries can be used to set short term and long term goals, fostering a sense of purpose and direction. Regularly reviewing progress helps in achieving goals and staying motivated.

5. Creativity and Expression

Writing in a diary allows students to explore their creativity and improve their writing skills. It serves as a platform for self- expression and can enhance communication abilities.

6. Emotional Regulation

Diaries offer a safe space for students to process and regulate their emotions, promoting mental well-being.

Spreading Love and Unity: Valentine's Day Festivities with the SRC!

Thank you to our wonderful Student Representative Council Co-ordinator, Miss Tiary, and the SRC team for their amazing efforts to raise a total of $1,600 through the Valentines Day initiative ‘Love is in the Air’.

Our SRC continue to devote their time to serving our school and promoting our school values of being respectful, responsible, and successful.

Nurturing Academic Progress and Wellbeing in our Year 12 students

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each member of our dedicated staff for their unwavering support and commitment to guiding our aspiring Year 12 students. Their collective efforts play a pivotal role in ensuring their academic journey remains on a trajectory of success.

Our Year 12 students have exhibited commendable diligence, consistently investing their efforts during study periods and active participation in Connect lessons. I commend their tenacity and commendable work ethic.

A special acknowledgment goes to our Connect teachers for their invaluable role in supporting the NESA confirmation process. All Year 12 students have now signed off and confirmed their subjects for the Higher School Certificate.

In the upcoming weeks (weeks 6 to 11), Year 12 students will be presented with 30 assessment tasks across all subject areas. Organisation is the key to success, and it is an expectation that students who do not meet the requirements of their subjects attend our Senior Improvement Program on Tuesdays between 12.10pm and 2.10pm in our school library.

Should you observe any signs of your child feeling overwhelmed or in need of additional support, I kindly implore you to communicate with either Mrs Li-Donni, Mr Faga, or myself. Their well-being is of utmost importance, and we strive to create an environment where every student feels nurtured and supported.

Bus 827 After School

We would like to bring to your attention the matter of overcrowding on Bus 827, a public route departing from our school daily at approximately 3:10 pm and servicing all stops to Liverpool Station. In collaboration with Transport NSW, we are actively working to address this concern and find an effective solution.

To enhance safety and efficiency, we kindly request that students catching this bus do so exclusively from our front school gate. As of now, students will no longer be permitted to leave the school grounds and catch the bus from alternative pick-up points.

Furthermore, we emphasise the importance of all students continuing to tap on when boarding the bus. This ensures accurate data and assists us in addressing the issue of overcrowding effectively.

We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a secure and orderly transportation process for all our students. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Swimming Carnival 2024

Thank you to all staff and students who made the Swimming Carnival for 2024 a resounding success. The Cecil Spirit was in full display throughout the event and it was wonderful to see it alive and well. We look forward to the Athletics Carnival on Friday 15 March 2024.
