Looks like tennis is making a comeback at MCC! Last year 12 students tried out for the school tennis team and this year we had 26 hopefuls, daring to chase a tennis ball in 30+ degree heat. All players showed a high level of enthusiasm and court etiquette.
4 girls and 4 boys were selected to play on 27 February against the best from Kildare, Mater Dei, St Francis and Xavier. Congratulations go to Sophia Romeo, Gabrielle De Lucchi, Amelia DeMarco, Mischa Musitano, Connor Moore, William Lancaster, Martin Gomez and Rylan Scarfo who braved the crazy February heat to represent our college at Wagga.
Against much older players that train every day, we still managed overall 3rd for the girls while all 4 boys eked out at least one tied match against brutal opposition!
Call out to any wanna-be tennis players for next year. Time to hit the courts!
