School Choir  & Orchestra

Our CSPS Choir and Orchestra provide students with opportunities to build fundamental Music skills and participate in multiple performances throughout the school year. 

This year, we are very fortunate to have Choir and Orchestra as timetabled activities within our school week. Choir will be open to all students (Prep-6) throughout the school. 

Orchestra is open to students from Years 3-6 who have a basic level of proficiency on a musical instrument (i.e. currently attending music lessons with an external provider). 

Weekly sessions will be held in the school hall at the following times:

Choir (Prep-6)

Friday 12.50-1.40

Orchestra (Year 3-6)

Tuesday 2.40-3.30

Students will have the opportunity to sign up during lunchtime meetings in the coming weeks, and further information will be provided to parents/carers of children who express an interest in joining. 

By joining a Choir or Orchestra, students have an opportunity to develop:

• Positive relationships across multiple age groups within the school
• Confidence in performing for an audience 
• Aural skills which form the foundation for reading, writing and speech development
• Social skills such as collaboration and teamwork 

We are very excited to begin these programs in the coming weeks and hope to have lots of our students involved!
